When your baby is diagnosed with hip dysplasia it can be a worrying time and it can be invaluable to find others in the same situation as you for advice and support. Here are some groups I have found useful, I hope they help you too.
My Hippy Baby UK & Ireland (DDH, Hip Dysplasia, Clicky Hips)
Is a support group aimed at families of hippy babies living in the UK and Ireland.
Karen has 2 'survival packs' available free (run on a no obligation donation scheme and fundraising), Pavlik or Spica packs. They contain information sheets, tips and advice from parents from the group and a few other useful items.
DDH UK Hip Dysplasia Support Group
A charity with the aim of helping those on their journey both in the UK and around the world. It is a kind, safe, caring community and if they can help they will, if they can't they have various experts there, and offline, who have a wealth of knowledge.
Hip Hip Hooray - Raising Awareness for Hip Dysplasia
This is an Australlia based group raising awareness of Hip Dysplasia.
Steps are the national charity working for all those whose lives are affected by lower limb conditions.
International Hip Dysplasia Institute
The International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) is a collaborative, international, not-for-profit effort to improve the health and quality of life of those affected by hip dysplasia. Their goal is to provide education to patients, families, and physicians as the most comprehensive and reliable resource for knowledge about hip dysplasia in its various forms.
If you know of or are another hip dysplasia support group or charity, please let me know and we can update this list.
